125 Years of VDMA in the North - “Ik schnack di platt”

Around 200 members gathered aboard the MS Koi for a networking event and celebration as the ship set off on an alternative tour of the harbour, past 40 stations with connections to machinery construction and into the harbour basin itself, which is otherwise rarely seen by the public. After a welcoming address by VDMA Vice President Norbert Basler, those present who had witnessed the harbour’s development held a short discussion about “our” contribution to the sound in the Elbphilharmonie, to energy production in the Moorburg power station and to steam production aboard museum ships, as well as the various components for modern ships.
Yared Dibaba acted as moderator and bandleader to provide a good, North German atmosphere.
